Artist
Statement
I
am a qualified teacher with many years experience of using the digital
technologies creatively in schools with pupils of all ages and with
adults. This has included introductory and advanced level information
technology and advanced level media studies. I am also a qualified
youth leader and have run video and animation sessions in this context.
My work has included promotional video and photographs for schools.
I teach
advanced digital imaging techniques to professional photographers
in order for them to gain certification. My adult training sessions
also include introductory still and video digital imaging.
My
own work has been part of a number of exhibitions including the
Royal West of England Academy Autumn Exhibition, the Royal Photographic
Society Annual Print Exhibition and the Stroud Foto Forum Exhibitions.
I have had a three week one man exhibition at the subscription rooms
in Stroud titled “Africal Lives – Images of Gabon”.
The
digital era presents schools with unprecedented potential for students
to engage practically and at a very high standard in fulfilling
imaging programmes that complement and extend their academic and
leisure activities. Above all, it is fun.
