Artist
Statement
I
took a science degree but trained as an actor at the Bristol Old
Vic Theatre School and later took an MA in Playwriting. I write
mainly for the stage, anything from monologues to large scale community
plays: researching interpreting and bringing to life the stories
people want to tell about their lives, experiences or local history.
Recent commissions include:
Time Flies – for Flies on the Wall Youth Theatre
Once Upon a Line – for the Stroud Brunel Trust
Lizzie Farmor’s Edifying Circus – for the Fairford
History Society & Farmor’s School
The
other focus to my work, as director of the Centre for the Spoken
Word, is to support talking skills through the written and performing
arts.
Theatre
is a collaborative art and I am happy to work with other artists
on performance or text-based projects.
