5 year engineering/technical illustration apprenticeship.
Day release to Glos College of Art – Technical graphics.
1975-87:
Technical illustrator for Aircraft/mining equip. manufacturers
1987-88:
Cheltenham Technical Publications – varied work.
1988-90:
Swindon School of Art – Graphics (Illustration option)
1990:
Young Illustrator of the Year (Readers Digest)
1990:
Freelance Illustrator – mainly educational and historical + graphics

CFET Stage 1 and 2 (Stroud College) leading to Evening
Classes in Life drawing, small scale sculpture, creative writing.

Style: My illustration work needs to be tight and accurate to reflect
the requirements of the brief. I also enjoy experimentation,
looser and more decorative work.

Inspiration: comes from everywhere and everything, e.g. music,
dreams, stories, conversations and nature.
Artists from Cotman to Picasso.

Hobbies: Playing music with friends – mainly Irish but also mainstream.
Drawing and painting, small scale sculptures. Archaeology.
Hill walking.
