Artist Statement

I come from the Colobane district of Dakar, Senegal. I’m a dancer, happy with both contemporary and traditional styles. I have established my self as a respected artist working with well known choreographers in several Dakar ballets.

My performance of the Thiakaba, a dance performed on stilts, has audiences enthralled. This specialised dance is performed either on tall stilts on two legs, or on slightly shorter stilts but one-legged!

I also eat fire and this makes an exciting addition to my repertoire especially during night performances. I’m at present working hard to perfect his Koumpo and limbo dancing. I’m an accomplished drummer too.

I have appeared in several television films in my home country. I now live in the UK.
