Artist Statement

I have an MA in Contemporary Theatre Practice and for the past 9 years have specialised in using and developing drama with young people; writing, directing and leading workshops.

I have worked regionally, nationally and internationally on a range of drama related projects in both schools and theatres.

As well as running my own theatre school- red banana drama- for young people aged 2-18, I am also an associate practitioner for the Birmingham Rep, The Cheltenham Everyman and The Wolverhampton Grand.

My work is a mix of educational drama, skill based drama and drama to help children with behavioural and emotional needs. This may be in the form of one off workshops, a series of workshops or though the creation of a public performance.

My emphasis is not on producing the next generation of actors but on using drama techniques, games, exercises and performances to create a fun and enjoyable environment where young people are encouraged, motivated and challenged to reach their potential.
