Wood be interested in multi discipline days i.e. dance and drums linked. Improvisation with poetry etc…

Artist Statement

I have taught music privately since 1998 and for Gloucestershire Music since 2000. My relevant qualifications are: Diploma of Music and Certificate of H.E. in Primary Music Education. Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal school of Music (CTABRSM)

I currently have a few private pupils for saxophone and flute who are learning as a hobby, ‘just for fun’ or to take graded examinations. Working through Gloucestershire Music I teach flute clarinet and saxophone to individuals and small groups; and taking ensemble rehearsals within school. I teach curriculum music to FS, KS1 and KS2 children, covering performing, composition and listening skills. As part of the “wider opportunities” programme I teach whole class percussion, basic drumming, orchestral and samba techniques.

My role within holiday workshops and summer schools has ranged from pastoral and administration though tutor to course leader.

Performing regularly, I am one half of Ain't Misbehavin' Jazz Duo offering tenor and baritone sax, flute and vocals; I play Baritone Sax and sing for THE BIG SWING BAND. In 2006/7 I was the musical Director of Cheltenham based METZ Big Band and recently I have been invited to join the Crescendo Big Band in the Baritone chair. I am also a member of Saxophonetics saxophone Quartet and SPAM modern Jazz Combo.
