Information for Artists

GLAS provides a professional showcase of artists for schools to draw on. Although a recently established group, we have a growing reputation for excellence.

We market the service to schools and centres of education, such as museums, libraries and youth groups, so saving you time and money. In addition, you have the strength of a supportive group, rather than having to work in isolation.

We work with artists in visual, applied and the performing arts. Artists experienced in working with children and young people are particularly welcome. If you are new to this area of work, you will be supported in structuring your workshops to link with the National Curriculum and may be able to shadow another artist to build skills and confidence in working in an educational environment.

You will need a current CRB check and Public Liability insurance. If you do not currently have these, guidance in obtaining them is available on initial acceptance into the group, though you will not be able to work until they are sorted out.
